While 2016 may have started out at a tepid rate, October 2016 became the busiest month ever for domestic M&A with its unprecedented wave of transactions. Will this momentum be sustained? According to the results of our newest survey, M&A activity is poised to accelerate. This upward trend could extend the deal-making increase we are seeing during the final months of 2016–and potentially reversing the slide of the early part of the year.
